Test and Exam Stress: Understanding the impact on children, young people and teachers and ways to reduce their anxiety.
There are concerns nationally that an increasing number of children are experiencing an elevated level of anxiety in KS4 assessments.
Childline delivered over 3,000 counselling sessions online or over the phone on exam stress in 2017/2018. The NSPCC reported in 2015 that exam pressures triggered anxiety attacks, depression and eating disorders.
This session will give an overview of the psychological processes involved in exam stress and discuss some solutions and interventions which reduce its impact.
Refreshments will be available from 1pm start. Lunch is NOT provided. Tea/Coffee will be provided.
