The course will run from 9.30-3.30pm. Refreshments will be available from 9am, for a 9.30am start.

Lunch is NOT provided – please bring your own or there are plenty of shops nearby. Tea/Coffee will be provided.

Description

Following two stages of piloting with the Education Access Service, Education Welfare Service and school representatives from primary, secondary and specialist settings, we have now produced good practice guidance for schools in relation to Emotionally Based School Non-attendance. The course aims:

To raise awareness and understanding of Emotionally Based School Non-attendance (EBSN).

To share good practice guidance and tools with schools.

To support schools in the process of early identification and intervention of children and young people who may be at risk of, or who are experiencing, EBSN.

To increase confidence and skills of school staff to identify and respond early to support children and young people at risk of / experiencing EBSN and their parents / carers.

To ensure a shared and consistent approach across schools.
